Watermelon Juice
We have introduced this one in our monthly newsletter but in case you have not seen it yet, here it is. Feel free to subscribe to our newsletter and receive monthly updates if you’d like! Watermelon cools Summer-Heat and also replenishes body fluids. It is also great at promoting urination so if you’re feeling bloated from all that water you just downed to quench your thirst, this one’s a good beverage for that. Finally, watermelon juice is also great for symptoms caused by the heat such as dry coughs, dryness in the mouth and epigastric pain!
Ingredients:
1 small sweet watermelon (around 6 lbs)
1 small lime (optional)
Instructions:
Slice the watermelon in half and scoop up chunks of it into the blender. Toss the rind afterwards.
Blend the fruit until it is fully pulverized (this should take up to a minute at most). For extra flavor, squeeze out the juice of a small lime and blend for a few seconds.
Pour your mixture into a pitcher through a fine mesh strainer if your watermelon is very pulpy or seedy. If not, just pour the juice into ice-filled glasses.
Enjoy!
Storage:
Keep the juice covered in the refrigerator, it should last up to 4 days. Stir with a spoon before drinking as it will separate after being stored.
Still feeling like you can do more to beat the heat?
